Since 1911, Worsham College has been an elite private institution dedicated to the study of mortuary science. Today, we offer a highly regarded one-year associate degree program that opens the door to careers in the funeral service industry for our students. With a rich history, a long tradition of excellence, and a dedication to quality, we are proud to offer the most comprehensive mortuary science education in the nation.

Every year, we welcome mortuary students from all fifty states and around the globe to our campus near Chicago, Illinois. Our students are dedicated, passionate, driven, and curious about the art of funeral directing.

Our admissions process operates on a rolling basis, with new courses beginning every March and September. The program lasts 12 months and students are encouraged to complete their degree within one year of enrolling.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the mortuary science associate degree program at Worsham College depends on your past academic performance and your ability to indicate a sincere interest in a funeral service career. We seek students who are passionate about helping others by providing stability and high levels of professionalism in the face of grief.

All students must complete some amount of college education before enrolling at Worsham College. The exact requirement for admission depends on the state in which you intend to obtain licensure for funeral directing. Along with your Worsham Application, you will need to submit the following:

● High school transcripts
● Sealed college transcripts
● Two letters of recommendation from non-family members
● A personal statement of 500 words or less describing why you feel drawn to pursue a career in funeral service
● Completed certificate of health
● $50 application fee

Financial Aid Options

Worsham College is an accredited institution of higher learning. As such, our students are eligible for federal financial aid to help make the cost of their education more affordable. We encourage all applicants to fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible. This is a required first step for all federal financial aid packages.
